Our Story

Rooted in Nature

Shiyera began with a simple question: why do the garments closest to our skin get the least thought? We wanted to make that layer differently — slower, softer, and rooted in something older than the season.

From Herb to Yarn

Our pieces begin with herb-dyed yarn rather than a finished cloth. Mugwort for our underwear, ginger for our socks — two plants long used in Chinese daily life, worked into the fibre before anything is cut or sewn.

We keep the dye bath low in temperature and the runs small. It takes longer. It also keeps the hand of the fabric soft and the colour closer to the plant it came from.

Slow by Design

Small batches. Flat seams finished slowly. Nothing designed to be replaced next season. We would rather make fewer things properly, and let people keep them for years.

What We Do Not Claim

We are not a medicine cabinet. Shiyera is clothing — chosen for how it feels against the skin, not for what it promises to cure. Where we quote fibre content and care, it comes from our supplier’s specification for the exact piece you are buying.
